About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Nurse Consultant within the Paediatrics Department.

Consistent with our values, we are looking for a values-based Paediatric Nurse Consultant to lead our team of exceptional clinicians.

The core function of the role of the Paediatric Nurse Consultant includes providing a patient and family focused approach in the planning, implementation and evaluation paediatric care. Paediatric services are designed to meet the individual needs of patient’s referred to the paediatric service for assessment, management and follow-up care.

The right person for this role has a “can-do” attitude. You will be innovative and supportive and have the necessary paediatric and family centred skills and knowledge, working in a dynamic environment, through periods of change and growth.

As a Nurse Consultant you will be responsible for supporting a culture of learning within our service, ensuring our nursing and multidisciplinary teams are able to deliver the highest standard of care in line with state wide and national standards. As an experienced nurse, it is expected that you will provide clinical leadership at the point of care through sound clinical judgement and decision making on matters such as clinical assessment, and the provision of care and treatment. The Nurse Consultant position is considered to be an expert and knowledgeable resource in their specialty. In this role you will also be expected to have a key role in change management, and have a good, if not expert, understanding of quality improvement methodology, and how this is applied to practice as a service through clinical governance. 

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
