About the role

Deliver specialist mental health nursing care to children, adolescents and families within CAMHS. Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator, the role provides assessment, therapeutic intervention, education and clinical leadership to support recovery-focused, culturally responsive care.

Key duties of the role

  • Assess, plan and deliver evidence-based mental health care for children and adolescents
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, counselling and group programs to support recovery
  • Work in partnership with consumers and families using a recovery-oriented framework
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies
  • Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance and staff development

Skills and Experience

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and a recognised mental health qualification
  • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in mental health nursing
  • Demonstrated experience assessing and managing complex child and adolescent presentations
  • Strong communication, leadership and conflict resolution skills
  • Commitment to recovery-oriented, culturally responsive and family-centred care
