About the Role

As the Assistant in Nursing, you will play a valuable role in supporting Enrolled and Registered Nurses to deliver compassionate, person-centred care. You will assist with general patient duties that help maintain comfort, safety and wellbeing, ensuring the smooth operation of the clinical environment. Your contribution will support nursing staff to focus on more complex patient needs while you help provide essential day-to-day care.

In this rewarding position, you will be accountable for your own actions and expected to demonstrate professionalism, reliability and respect in every interaction. Working closely with nurses, patients, families and the broader multidisciplinary team, you will help create a positive, supportive and efficient care environment. About You

You are a compassionate and motivated individual who is committed to delivering safe, person-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team. With a developing foundation in health or nursing studies, you bring strong communication skills, a willingness to learn and the ability to support patients respectfully and professionally within the boundaries of your training and competence.

  • Educational/Vocational Qualifications – Enrolled as an undergraduate nursing student (any year level) with required employer training completed; OR undertaking an approved Enrolled Nurse preparation program; OR holding a Certificate III or IV in a recognised health discipline (e.g. Basic Health Care, Aged Care, Health Services Assistance, Home and Community Care, Individual Support Work, or equivalent DHA/ANMF-approved qualifications).

  • Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills – Effective written and verbal communication, ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, and the capability to deliver compassionate, person-centred care aligned with patient needs.

  • Experience – Experience providing nursing care within the limits of your education and training, in line with relevant standards of practice and workplace expectations.

  • Knowledge – Understanding of the Assistant in Nursing role within a healthcare setting, along with knowledge of relevant legislation, codes of ethics, industry standards and competency requirements.
