About the Role:

As the Associate Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in the Emergency Department, you will provide high-quality nursing and/or midwifery services that reflect your experience and professional growth from competent to proficient practice. You’ll play a vital leadership role, supporting the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in guiding and mentoring nursing and midwifery staff, while maintaining accountability for your own practice standards and the supervision of delegated activities.

In this role, you’ll take on a key portfolio focused on promoting continuity and consistency of care, assisting in the implementation of practice improvements, and contributing to the effective management of the ward or unit. Your responsibilities may include supporting performance management, recruitment, rostering, and resource planning, ensuring the department runs efficiently and delivers excellent patient outcomes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.

Applicant Information

This is a part time vacancy, working 48 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
