Join SA Health as a Part Time Occupational Therapist at Flinders Medical Centre's Rehabilitation Unit. This contract position, concluding on 11 January 2027, offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient care within the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network while advancing your professional development, and making a meaningful impact on patient's functional independence and quality of life. 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Director Occupational Therapy, this position will job-share the Senior OT role and be responsible for the provision of comprehensive occupational therapy services to rehabilitation clients located in the Stroke Unit.  The Occupational Therapist in this position provides specialist consultation and skills related to patients with neurological conditions.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Planning and implementing evidence-based intervention programs with outcome measures to evaluate efficacy of therapy programs and introduce new practices in response to evaluations.
  • Providing advice and consultancy to other staff within the Occupational Therapy department and other clinicians on neurological patient management.
  • Working as part of the Rehab Leadership Team and support to the occupational therapy staff on the unit.
  • Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.

About you:

  • Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility for the organisation and supervision of clinical Occupational Therapy services to a designated area as a member of an interdisciplinary team. This includes the ability to undertake assessment and intervention for stroke rehab patients and the management of complex cases.
  • Clinical experience at a senior level, in an acute health care organisation.
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills including the ability to communicate with patients, staff and other agencies, both orally and in writing.
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
