Compassionate Clinical Nurse Wanted | Drug & Alcohol Specialist Services!

Join SA Health as a Clinical Nurse in our Drug and Alcohol Services, where you'll provide specialised outpatient care to individuals on their recovery journey. This part-time contract position until November 2026 offers the opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team while making a genuine difference in addiction treatment and mental health care. About the role: 

Reporting to the Regional Manager, this role is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing assessments, develop personalised care plans, and provide ongoing support to patients receiving outpatient drug and alcohol treatment services.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a defined clinical area,
  • Monitoring patient/client care plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis,
  • Contribute expert nursing assessment and advice to local clinical teams to achieve integrated nursing/midwifery care within a risk management and harm minimisation framework,
  • Use available information systems: to inform decision making, to implement and co-ordinate processes for quality improvement, to monitor and analyse incidents and accidents, to ensure quality and safety is not compromised, to evaluate outcomes and convey information to staff,
  • Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience

About you:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
  • Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team,
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision,
  • Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the clinical setting,
  • Demonstrated competence in alcohol and other drug nursing and in the acute medical & surgical hospital setting providing consultation and liaison multidisciplinary service
