Overview

We invite you to join our Child Health and Development Team as a paediatric physiotherapist in the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network, Kadina.

We are seeking a physiotherapist passionate about assisting children to reach their full potential and the opportunity to participate in family and community life.  Our paediatric physiotherapists are leaders in attachment and trauma informed care, family goal setting and working within a multidisciplinary team.  

As a Paediatric Physiotherapist you will have the opportunity to provide rural based services in both outpatient and community settings and will work with clinically and culturally diverse caseloads with children 0 to 7. We also address the health and medical needs of children aged 0 to 18. CHAD provides a public health service and supports children accessing the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Opportunities include:  

  • Assess, treat and provide therapy options to wide variety of clinical presentations including but not limited to premature care follow-up, neurological, orthopaedics, musculoskeletal, genetics and global developmental delay.  
  • Work with clients with specialised care such as management of Dennis brown splints, Pavlick harnesses, hip SPICA checks, plagiocephaly, torticollis and toe walking. 
  • Work with clients with a wide range of diagnoses including cerebral palsy and autism spectrum disorder. 
  • Service the local community across a variety of settings including in-home support, childcare centres, kindergartens, and schools.  
  • Provide family centred goal-based therapy to improve function and reduce limitations through therapy and consultations.   
  • Conduct hydrotherapy sessions with clients in local community facilities. 
  • Partner with clinical specialists on-site, via telehealth and through email correspondence with close links with the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Lyell McEwin and Flinders Hospitals.   
  • Travel and provide physiotherapy services to outreach paediatric clients within the local health network  
  • Contribute to the profession through student supervision and work experience opportunities  
  • Have access to and support from the Country Health SA's Paediatric Special Interest Group with monthly professional development meetings and networking with senior paediatric physiotherapist across South Australia.
