About the role

As the Coordinator, Billing Services with SA Medical Imaging (SAMI), you will lead a dedicated team responsible for delivering high-quality, accurate, and efficient billing services across the network. Reporting to the Team Leader, Billing and Receipting, you will oversee the coordination of consultant registration, Rights of Private Practice documentation, and end-of-month financial processes, ensuring all billing activities are completed to the highest standard.

A key focus of this role is providing leadership, guidance, and day-to-day supervision to billing officers across multiple sites, fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment. You will actively promote a positive team culture built on communication, accountability, and continuous improvement, while assisting with audits, exception management, and the standardisation of billing practices. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced billing professional who thrives in leading people and enhancing service performance across a dynamic health network.

About You

You are an organised and motivated professional with strong leadership and problem-solving skills, ideally experienced in billing, finance, or healthcare administration. You bring the ability to manage competing priorities, lead and support a team, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability. Your attention to detail and understanding of billing or financial processes will enable you to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely service delivery.

  • Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrated experience leading or supervising staff within a team environment, fostering a positive and results-driven culture.

  • Analytical and Organisational Skills: Proven ability to manage high workloads, interpret policy requirements, and resolve complex billing or administrative issues.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with staff, management, and stakeholders.

  • Technical and Industry Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience in hospital or medical imaging billing and knowledge of Medicare and SA Health billing policies (highly desirable).
