About the role

As a Technical Officer (TGO2), you will play an essential role in supporting operational and project programs through the application of advanced technical knowledge and professional judgement. You will work both independently and as a leader of small project teams, applying your expertise to deliver accurate, efficient and reliable technical outcomes. Your responsibilities will include conducting a variety of laboratory activities, providing technical guidance to colleagues and contributing to the development of new procedures and process improvements that enhance service delivery.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to expand your technical experience within a collaborative and supportive environment. You will be responsible for assessing equipment, processes and results. With your strong technical skills, attention to detail and commitment to quality, you will contribute to the success of service excellence within your team.

With excellent organisational skills and a proactive attitude, you bring both technical expertise and leadership capability to support laboratory operations and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will bring:

  • Qualifications & Technical Expertise
    Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant technical discipline, supported by extensive knowledge of laboratory principles, practices and scientific concepts.

  • Laboratory Experience & Problem-Solving
    Demonstrated experience in a Blood Bank or medical laboratory environment, with proven ability to troubleshoot, resolve issues and meet client requirements efficiently.

  • Communication & Teamwork
    Strong verbal and written communication skills, sound interpersonal abilities and a positive approach to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Organisation, Quality & Safety
    Excellent time management and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise workloads, supervise and train others, and uphold high standards of quality, safety and customer service.
