Join Our Team as a Community Services Paramedical Aide – Support Independence and Quality of Life at Home

Make a meaningful difference by helping older people remain independent, safe, and supported in the comfort of their own homes. This role offers the opportunity to deliver person-centred care that enhances wellbeing, promotes choice, and strengthens community connection.

About the Role:

As a Community Services Paramedical Aide, you will provide high-quality home-based care to clients of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), guided by the philosophy of supporting individuals to thrive in their chosen environment. Your work will contribute directly to the CHSP objectives—maximising independence, enhancing wellbeing, supporting ageing in place, and ensuring equitable access to flexible, culturally appropriate services.

You will play a key role in helping frail, older people (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients aged 50+) maintain independence for as long as they choose, reducing the need for higher-cost aged care services. Working collaboratively with clients, families, carers and advocates, you will help form the foundations of individualised Care Plans that respond to each client’s unique needs.

Empowered by your skills, experience and professional judgement, you will design and deliver flexible, timely services that align with CHSP guidelines, Home Care Standards, and local needs. Your work ensures clients receive safe, high-quality support that respects dignity, promotes choice, and strengthens their ability to live well at home and in the community.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience and knowledge in health/aged care and how that relates in the community setting.
  • Experience in identifying needs and working closely with clients, families and carers in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven experience in exercising own judgement and initiative in the day to day execution of the position.
  • Experience in the use of computer programs e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and CME.
