About the role

As the Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, you will play a pivotal role in the leadership and operational management of Nuclear Medicine services. You will oversee both physical and human resources, ensuring service excellence, patient safety, and the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic imaging outcomes. Working collaboratively with clinicians, radiologists, and other health professionals, you will shape service priorities, professional standards, and operational objectives to meet the evolving needs of the department and the patients it serves.

This senior role provides the opportunity to lead a skilled team while promoting research, innovation, and education within the field of Nuclear Medicine. You will be responsible for advancing clinical practice, fostering professional development among staff, and ensuring the implementation of cutting-edge imaging techniques. As a respected leader and subject matter expert, you will contribute to the hospital’s mission of delivering exceptional care through clinical excellence and continuous improvement.

About You

You are an accomplished Nuclear Medicine professional and inspiring leader, with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-centred care. Your expertise in advanced imaging techniques, team leadership, and service development will enable you to drive high standards across the Women’s and Children’s Hospital’s Nuclear Medicine Unit.

  • Qualifications and Licences: Hold an accredited degree in Medical Radiation or equivalent, with registration as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist under the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia, and eligible for all required South Australian radiation licences.

  • Leadership and Strategic Capability: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, implement change, resolve conflict, and deliver service improvements through effective planning, policy development, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Experience and Technical Expertise: Extensive postgraduate experience working with paediatric, obstetric, and neonatal patients, alongside demonstrated success in equipment procurement, quality management, and staff development.

  • Knowledge and Professional Insight: Comprehensive understanding of imaging techniques for women and children, with strong knowledge of accreditation, clinical information systems, and continuous improvement principles.
