Join Our Team as a Direct Care Worker (Community) – Support Independence and Wellbeing

Make a real difference by helping aged, frail, or disabled clients remain living safely and comfortably in their own homes. This role offers the opportunity to deliver person-centred care, support independence, and work closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

About the Role:

As a Direct Care Worker (Community), you will provide hands-on support with daily living activities, assist clients with special needs, and plan and deliver diversional therapy programs for individuals and groups. You will collaborate with Community Health professionals and liaise with nursing, maintenance, and other staff to ensure a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment.

In addition to direct client care, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the service through equipment setup and use, accurate record-keeping, and guidance within your area of expertise. Continuous learning and skills development are encouraged, and you may occasionally perform duties at a lower level as required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in exercising own judgment and initiative in the day-to-day execution of a position.
• Experience in the use of computer packages eg. Microsoft Word, Excel.

Applicant Information

This is a part time vacancy, working 48 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements:

• DHS National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Check
• National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups required for this position (E.g. aged care employment or work involving vulnerable clients)
• Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A
