Roxby Downs Health Service

Roxby Downs Health Service is situated approximately 250kms north of Port Augusta. It is a 10 bed (including flex bed) facility. The health service provides an accident and emergency service, as well a general medical, as well has having a wide range of regular visiting outpatient services. About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse, you will play an essential role in delivering safe, effective and person-centred nursing and/or midwifery care within a dynamic health service environment. In this position, you will progress from a novice practitioner to a proficient clinician, continually strengthening your knowledge, skills and capability through ongoing learning and professional experience. You will be accountable for your own practice standards, the delivery of high-quality care, and for ensuring delegated tasks are completed safely and appropriately. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your clinical confidence, contribute to positive consumer outcomes, and be part of a team dedicated to excellence in healthcare.

 

About You:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • Ability to prioritise workload. and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision.
  • Competency in the delivery of emergency care.
  • Has worked in minimum staffed units or demonstrated competency as being capable to work in minimally staffed unit.
  • Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
  • Current Advanced Life Support credentialling, or willingness to obtain this upon appointment.

Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
