About the Role:

As the Patient Flow Coordinator, you will utilise your advanced clinical knowledge and leadership experience to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of patients across the health service. Working closely with the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager, you’ll support optimal bed management, coordinate admissions and discharges, and promote effective communication between departments to enhance continuity of care. In this role, you’ll also provide guidance and mentorship to staff, contribute to practice improvements, and assist with key management responsibilities such as rostering, staffing, and resource planning. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your organisational and clinical leadership skills in a fast-paced environment, making a tangible impact on patient outcomes and service efficiency.

About You:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
