About the Role

In this specialised position, you will provide advanced clinical nursing expertise and compassionate support to men diagnosed with prostate cancer, along with their families and carers. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will guide patients through their care journey, offering evidence-based information, tailored education and practical strategies that empower individuals to take an active role in managing their condition. Your presence will help patients feel informed, supported and confident as they navigate complex clinical decisions.

You will draw on your expert knowledge to deliver direct nursing care, lead and mentor nursing staff, and contribute to projects and initiatives that enhance patient outcomes across the service. Whether providing clinical leadership, coordinating multidisciplinary care or ensuring alignment between practice and policy, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the quality, safety and person-centred focus of prostate cancer care. Your work will make a meaningful difference to patients, their families, and the broader clinical team.

About You

You are an experienced and motivated nursing professional who brings advanced clinical capability, strong leadership qualities and a commitment to high-quality, person-centred care. You thrive in multidisciplinary environments, adapt confidently to changing demands, and use your expertise to guide safe, effective and compassionate practice.

Key Requirements

  • Clinical registration & professional practice
    Registered (or eligible) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible to hold a current practising certificate, with a minimum of three years post-registration experience and demonstrated competence in the relevant nursing and/or midwifery specialty.

  • Leadership, communication & problem-solving
    Strong capability in communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and change management, with proven ability to lead, influence and support others through clinical and organisational improvement.

  • Collaboration & service excellence
    Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, promote consumer engagement initiatives and contribute to high-quality, person-centred service delivery.

  • Knowledge, governance & professional standards
    Sound understanding of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, ethical codes, competency standards and contemporary nursing/midwifery issues, enabling informed, accountable and evidence-based practice.
