Take on a pivotal executive leadership role where your expertise will shape the direction, culture, and performance of nursing and midwifery services across Bordertown Memorial Hospital & Aged Care and Keith & District Healthcare. As the Director of Nursing & Midwifery, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across complex service environments, overseeing inpatient, outpatient, emergency, primary health, and aged care operations. This role offers the opportunity to design and evaluate clinical practice frameworks, lead multidisciplinary teams, drive innovation, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and person-centred care for the communities we serve. You will be central to strengthening governance, systems, staff capability, and organisational performance across two sites with diverse services and funding models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership, governance, and direction for nursing and midwifery services across Bordertown Memorial Hospital & Aged Care and Keith & District Healthcare.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical practice frameworks, service delivery models, and quality improvement systems.
  • Manage the overall operations of the health units, optimising human, material, and financial resources.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, professional standards, accreditation requirements, and public sector policies.
  • Drive innovation, system improvement, workforce capability building, and organisational change initiatives.
  • Provide professional nursing/midwifery advice to executives, managers, and stakeholders.
  • Lead and support direct reports, fostering a culture of safety, respect, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee risk management, corporate governance, financial planning, and service performance.
  • Strengthen partnerships with community, government, funding bodies, and regional networks.
  • Promote patient-centred care, engagement, and positive health outcomes.
  • Ensure robust human resource systems, including recruitment, staff development, and performance frameworks.
  • Support research, evidence-based practice, and data-driven decision making.
