About the Role

Step into a meaningful and rewarding role where your expertise can profoundly shape patient outcomes. As the Senior Dietitian (Perioperative) within the CALHN Metabolic and Bariatric Clinic (CMBC), you’ll be a valued member of a committed multidisciplinary team, providing specialised nutrition and dietetic care throughout each patient’s entire CMBC journey—before, during and after surgical intervention. In this unique and highly specialised position, you’ll work with a high degree of autonomy, offering expert consultancy to medical, nursing and food services teams across CALHN and the broader region.

Beyond your clinical influence, you’ll play an integral role in shaping the future of our service. You’ll lead and contribute to service planning, evaluation, research and quality improvement activities that strengthen our model of care and support better outcomes for CMBC patients. You will also provide clinical supervision to dietitians within the department, professional guidance to practitioners beyond our organisation, and support the development of emerging dietitians through student education. If you’re passionate about advancing evidence-based practice and making a genuine difference in the lives of patients, we’d love you to join our team.

About You

You are an experienced, motivated and highly skilled dietitian who thrives in a collaborative, patient-focused environment and is committed to advancing clinical nutrition practice.

  • Qualified and credentialed Dietitian, eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA) and experienced in clinical nutrition and dietetics specialty areas.

  • Strong communicator and team leader with the ability to work effectively across all levels, provide supervision, and support staff education and development.

  • Organised and self-motivated professional with proven skills in planning, problem-solving, report writing, and delivering high-quality patient care.

  • Knowledgeable and innovative in specialist nutrition practice, quality improvement, enteral feeding, and development of policies and programs.
