Working closely with executive leaders and dedicated Safety, Quality & Risk staff, you’ll use your expertise to guide best practice, drive consistent processes and help cultivate a culture where risk awareness and continuous improvement are embedded in everyday operations.

In this influential role, you will oversee the management of the SCSS Recommendations Register, ensuring clear reporting, strong governance and timely progress updates for key committees, including the SCSS Executive Management Team and Audit & Risk Committee. You will collaborate across internal audit, legislative compliance and sustainability functions, while facilitating risk education, maintaining risk registers, and shaping systems aligned to national standards and SA Health frameworks. As a key member of the Internal Audit, Legislative Compliance and Risk team, you’ll contribute to the development, guidance and support of colleagues, helping ensure SCSS remains safe, compliant and future-focused.

About You

You are a skilled and proactive risk management professional who brings strong technical capability, sound judgement and a collaborative approach to supporting safe, high-quality services. With relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience in implementing effective risk frameworks, you’re confident working across complex environments and building trusted relationships at all levels.

You will bring:

  • Relevant qualifications and proven expertise in risk management, with experience developing, implementing and evaluating clinical and corporate risk programs.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, including the ability to interpret data, write high-quality reports and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution and decision-making capability, with the initiative to work independently, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.

  • A collaborative, team-focused mindset, with experience working across multidisciplinary teams and a solid understanding of risk and safety management systems in healthcare.
