Bridge Healthcare Communication - Interpreter Coordinator Opportunity

Join the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network as an Interpreter Coordinator and ensure quality healthcare communication for culturally diverse patients across Adelaide's southern communities. You will coordinate interpreting services, manage bookings, and work with healthcare teams to provide appropriate language support during patient care. About the role: 

Reporting to the Administration Manager, this role is responsible for the co-ordination of interpreter services and the provision of confidential, efficient and comprehensive; customer orientated frontline administrative support to the SALHN Outpatients Clinics.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers
  • Demonstrating appropriate behaviours which reflect a commitment to the Department of Health values and strategic directions,
  • Undertaking training as required to attain and maintain required competency of skills and knowledge applicable to the role,
  • Providing professional, quality, and responsive customer service,
  • Co-ordinating interpreter bookings, cancellations and group services,
  • Contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives,
  • Contributing to the development of new staff and trainees by helping and providing advice on practices, procedures, and technical knowledge,
  • Producing reports on key performance indicators

About you:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality confidential reception and administrative support services in a customer focused area,
  • Sound communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders (staff, clients and organisations),
  • Experience working within the health service
  • Ability to accept responsibility for the efficient completion of tasks with high accuracy,
  • Flexibility in work practices
