Overview

Join SA Health as a Cancer Care Coordinator and make a genuine difference in the lives of patients and families facing cancer diagnoses. Based at Mount Gambier Hospital within the Limestone Coast Local Health Network, this role offers both temporary and ongoing opportunities in South Australia's beautiful South East region.

About the Opportunity

We have two 0.8 FTE positions available:

  • One temporary backfill position until 17 April 2026
  • One ongoing position

As a Cancer Care Coordinator, you will provide comprehensive support to cancer patients throughout their treatment journey, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery and optimal patient outcomes.

As the Cancer Care Coordinator, you will:

  • Lead and deliver expert cancer care, including case management and therapeutic interventions.
  • Provide clinical leadership to nurses and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality cancer care outcomes.
  • Advocate for continuous improvements in cancer care coordination, with a focus on optimal patient/client care.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and processes, ensuring the best practice and quality standards.
  • Lead initiatives for cancer care education and professional development, including research and protocol development.
  • Facilitate patient discharge planning and promote hospital avoidance strategies.
  • Foster effective working relationships and manage conflict resolution to ensure smooth team dynamics.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Registered Nurse with a minimum of three (3) years post-registration experience.
  • Expertise in cancer care practice, with a solid understanding of national standards and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead teams and manage change.
  • Demonstrated capability in supervising and mentoring staff, students, and less experienced nurses.
  • A commitment to patient-centred care, continuous learning, and innovation in practice.
