About the role: 

Reporting to the Head of Unit (Operationally) ED Consultant (Professionally), some of your duties for the role will include:

  • Providing appropriate direction and supervision to registrars, resident medical officers and interns
  • Attending and participating in clinical and departmental educational meetings
  • Ensuring that patients and families are given adequate information upon which to base treatment decisions and follow up
  • Participating in quality assurance programs undertaken by Flinders Medical Centre

About you:

  • Fellows of ACEM, ACCRM, RACGP, FRACP (Paediatrics/PED) or current/former advanced trainees in these programs
  • Significant clinical experience (4 or more years) in Emergency Medicine and other critical care fields in Australia or a comparable Health system
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including colleagues, other professional staff and patients
  • Broad Emergency medicine skills with demonstrable competence in the practice of emergency medicine as occurs in Australasian Emergency Departments
  • Ability to act as a role model for medical students and junior medical staff

‘As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-month allocation as Advanced Trainee will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills, and capabilities.’
