  • Casual working over a 7-day roster up to 12 months

 

Step into a hands-on, resident-focused role where your compassion and practical care skills directly enhance the wellbeing and quality of life of older people in our Residential Care Home. As a Direct Care Worker (Residential), you’ll play a vital part in delivering essential daily living support - from personal care and mobility assistance to maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. Working within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, you’ll contribute to resident assessments, assist with routine treatments, and help ensure every resident receives respectful, individualised care. This role offers the opportunity to build strong relationships, develop practical care competencies, and make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with personal care, hygiene, grooming, toileting and mobility.
  • Support transfers and lifting using appropriate mechanical aids.
  • Maintain resident comfort through bed making, laundry distribution, and ensuring a clean environment.
  • Assist with communication needs (e.g., hearing aids, glasses).
  • Support routine treatments, procedures and self-administration of medication.
  • Contribute to client assessments and care planning.
  • Provide in-home style services aligned with role requirements.
  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain required skills and knowledge through ongoing training.
