About the Role:

As a Clinical Nurse in the Geriatrician Outpatient Clinic, you will coordinate care and assessments for older patients, provide physical and cognitive evaluations, manage patient flow, and monitor care and behaviour support plans to ensure positive outcomes. You will accept accountability for your own standards of care and delegated activities, while supporting and guiding less experienced staff. Your role may also include portfolio responsibilities negotiated as part of your career development plan, enabling you to contribute to service improvements and clinical leadership.

Murray Bridge Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital is the major regional health provider for the Mallee Coorong region. Co-located with Murray Mallee Community Health Service, the hospital features 46 public beds, a 24-hour emergency department, day surgery, operating theatres, maternity and obstetric services, medical imaging, and inpatient care. The hospital provides a regional service including domiciliary care, community health programs, Meals on Wheels, and aged care support services.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.

This is a part time vacancy, working 32 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
