Registered Nurse General Medicine Acute - Transform Lives at Noarlunga Hospital

Noarlunga Acute General Medical ward is a purpose built unit at the Noarlunga Hospital. With 24 beds dedicated to General Medicine to provide higher acuity, multidisciplinary model of care with skilled staff.  This specialised unit is not limited by the boundaries of medical subspecialities.

The higher acuity care that is provided in the unit includes cardiac monitoring and hi-flow oxygen.

  • Provide health promotion and education, to patients/clients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of individual
  • Support nursing/midwifery practice and learning experiences for students undertaking clinical placements, orientation for new staff and preceptorship of graduates
  • Contribute to procedures for effectively dealing with people exhibiting challenging behaviours
  • Review decisions, assessments and recommendations from less experienced Registered Nurses/ Midwives and Enrolled Nurses and students

About you:

  • Effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
  • Ability to be, creative, innovative, and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting
  • Experience in working in an acute care setting
  • Experience in managing deteriorating patients
