This part-time temporary role is available working fixed days of the week; either 15 hours per week (Thursday and Friday) or 22.5 hours per week (Thursday, Friday and one weekend day).
About the Role:
As a Senior Physiotherapist – ICU, you will provide high-quality physiotherapy services for patients in the Intensive Care Unit. You’ll work closely with other health professionals to provide evidence-based care that maximises functional and health outcomes for some of our most vulnerable patients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering advanced clinical physiotherapy services in ICU and surgical settings.
- Leading service development, quality improvement initiatives, and research projects.
- Providing clinical leadership, mentoring, and supervision to junior staff and students.
- Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centred care and safe discharge planning.
This role offers the chance to influence best practice, contribute to innovation, and support the growth of physiotherapy services within NALHN.
About You:
You are a highly skilled and compassionate clinician with:
- Extensive experience in acute care physiotherapy, particularly ICU and/or HDU settings.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a passion for developing others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement, and patient-centred care.
- An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment
Essential qualifications:
- An appropriate degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent) which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field and experience in research activities.
