We are recruiting at both WHA4 (no formal qualifications required) and WHA5 (trade qualified) levels, making this a great opportunity for experienced cooks or those looking to build their career in commercial food services.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare, cook and present meals to a high standard
  • Ensure menus meet dietary and nutritional requirements
  • Manage food ordering, stock control and kitchen supplies
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene and quality assurance standards
  • Support efficient meal service delivery across the facility

What We're Looking For

  • WHA4: Passion for food service and willingness to learn
  • WHA5: Trade qualifications or equivalent cooking experience
  • Commitment to quality, safety and teamwork
  • Ability to work independently in a regional setting

The Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) is responsible for the planning and delivery of hospital and health services over 337,626 square kilometres, taking in the Eyre Peninsula, western part of South Australia and north to Coober Pedy.  We are one of the largest LHNs by area in Australia and communities include Ceduna, Cleve, Coober Pedy, Cowell, Cummins, Elliston, Kimba, Oodnadatta, Port Lincoln, Streaky Bay, Tumby Bay and Wudinna.

Services include acute care, medical, accident and emergency, surgery, birthing and midwifery, specialist consultancy, renal dialysis, chemotherapy, transfusions, rehabilitation, residential and community aged care, respite care, transitional care packages, Aboriginal health, mental health, allied health, community health, community nursing, palliative care, community home support packages and home modifications.

The Ceduna District Health Services is run by the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network and includes Ceduna Hospital. Ceduna Hospital has 15 inpatient beds and provides services including emergency, surgical, general medicine, birthing, renal dialysis, diagnostic radiology and outpatients. There are also residential aged care services provided within the hospital, at the Kuhlmann Wing and Ceduna Senior Citizens Village. There is also a GP family practice, Community Health services, Allied Health services, and Child, Adolescent and Adult Mental Health services offered on the hospital site.

Applicant Information

This is a part time vacancy, working 64 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
