Lead Healthcare Innovation - Technical Manager, Clinical and Research Support, Biomedical Engineering 

Join SA Health at Flinders Medical Centre and lead the future of healthcare technology in Adelaide's southern region. This ongoing, full-time position offers an exceptional opportunity to manage a team to deliver a specialised biomedical device development service.

Reporting to the Department Manager, some of your duties for the role will include:

  • Lead and manage the professional research and development of biomedical device concept, plans and products in close collaboration with state medical and research experts, to ensure the continual improvement of clinical, research and business outcomes
  • Deliver a specialist and expert biomedical device development and manufacturing advisory and consultancy service to academics, clinicians and other healthcare professionals affiliated with SA Health
  • Oversee research and development reviews and audits and develop strategies and team objectives to respond to business goals and objectives, and to ensure that overall compliance and performance is met
  • Initiate, lead and oversee highly complex projects or services associated with specialised or diverse systems, technology and devices, to support service delivery and improvement objectives

About you:

  • A Degree, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Biomedical Engineering or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and evaluating the delivery of research and development services,
  • Experience in planning and delivering continuous improvement projects, processes, systems and organisational change initiatives, particularly those associated with complex medical engineering technology
  • Sound experience in undertaking specialist research, analysis and development of biomedical devices and systems in an environment in which client and staff safety are paramount and the reliable operation is critical,
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical device manufacturing standards and regulations,
  • Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills across a multi-disciplinary environment including the capacity to undertake effective negotiations with all major stakeholders, 
  • Extensive skills in working within broad directions, utilising initiative and determining priorities and resource allocation that achieve organisational goals and objectives within tight time frames and changing environments.

This is a single vacancy, with two possible appointment classifications. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.
