About the role

As Senior Clinical Psychologist, you will play a pivotal role in assessing and diagnosing complex developmental delays and neurodevelopmental disorders as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team. 

Key duties of the role

  • Provide clinical psychology assessment, diagnosis, and consultancy for children with complex neurodevelopmental differences (including but not limited to global developmental delay, intellectual disability, specific learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder) 
  • Apply expert, evidence-based approaches
  • Advise management on service development and practice improvements in response to demands and client needs.
  • Offer specialist consultation and support to community and regional psychologists across South Australian child development services.
  • Collaborate with families, multidisciplinary teams, and community agencies

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Ability to undertake specialist assessment of children with complex developmental problems
  • Ability to understand highly complex clinical presentations
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Clinical Psychologist within paediatrics with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience.
  • Experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication
