About the Role:

SA Health's Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a dedicated Clinical Midwife/Midwife to join our Family Clinic and Women's and Paediatric Clinic. This part-time position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional care to mothers and children in Adelaide's northern metropolitan region.

As a Clinical Midwife/Midwife in our Family Clinic, you will support women and families in a collaborative, woman-centred environment. You will work alongside our multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, quality care while promoting women's and children's health.

Midwife

Employees classified at this level provide midwifery services in health service settings. Employees working within this level develop from novice practitioners to a proficient level of professional practice. They consolidate knowledge and skills and develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience. An employee at this level accepts accountability for his or her own standards of midwifery care and for activities delegated to others.

Clinical Midwife

Provide midwifery services in a variety of health service settings which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners.                                               

Accepts accountability for their own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff.

The Clinical Midwife role at this level continues to be predominantly clinical in nature; however, employees are assigned appropriate portfolios. The allocation of portfolio responsibilities should be negotiated with each employee and be consistent with the career development plan for the employee as determined by their performance review/development plan.

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
