About the role

The Administrative Assistant provides confidential, high-quality administrative support to Surgical Services. Reporting to the Administrative Manager, the role coordinates theatre lists, clinics and ward support, and liaises with medical staff, patients and carers to ensure efficient service delivery.

Key duties of the role

  • Coordinate elective surgery bookings and theatre lists using EMR and ORMIS
  • Provide confidential administrative support across clinics, wards and outpatients
  • Support medical staff with diaries, typing, schedules and clinical documentation
  • Liaise with patients, carers and multidisciplinary teams to manage bookings and enquiries
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, waiting lists and departmental systems

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a health or hospital administrative/secretarial role
  • Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and scheduling systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities
  • Strong organisation, problem-solving and time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
