  • Salary $71,217 - $106,330 p.a. (pro rata) AHP1/2 - 37.5 hours p.w. till 17 July 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in providing high-quality psycho-social interventions to ensure excellent social work services in a clinical setting.

The Social Work & Counselling Service (Acute) is available to patients and their families receiving treatment at Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) and Noarlunga Hospital (NH). Service provision includes assessment, consultation, intervention and review, education, liaison with community agencies, organisation of appropriate resources and management of complex discharge.

About the Role:

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Use interpersonal skills to build therapeutic relationships with patients and families 
  • To work effectively in a multi–disciplinary team using negotiation skills and collaboration to ensure safe outcomes for patients and their families
  • Use social work skills to undertake psycho-social assessments and intervene with patients and their families to effect change
  • Advocate on behalf of patients and their families
  • Work under pressure and meet deadlines and prioritise work appropriately
  • Contribute to staff development activities including service and policy development
