WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?
We are offering an opportunity to join the Emergency Department as a Ward Clerk, providing essential administrative and reception support in a fast-paced, patient-centred environment. This role plays a key part in supporting patient flow and clinical teams through accurate admissions, medical records administration and effective communication. You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team within Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network, contributing to high-quality, confidential and compassionate care for patients, families and the community. The Emergency Department Ward Clerk is required to work over 7 days of the week and on afternoon and evening shifts.

Southern Fleurieu Health Service (SFHS) in Victor Harbor provides comprehensive healthcare to the Fleurieu Peninsula and surrounding communities. Services include general medical and surgical care, maternity, renal dialysis, chemotherapy, radiology, pathology, and a 24/7 emergency department. Specialist services include cardiology, gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, urology, and palliative care.
SFHS is a modern facility with purpose-built consulting rooms, therapy zones, and birthing suites, offering a supportive environment for both patients and staff committed to high-quality, patient-centred care.
HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?
- Provide a high-quality, courteous and confidential reception and administrative service to patients, visitors and staff in a busy Emergency Department environment.
- Support patient flow by accurately completing admissions, discharges, data entry and medical records administration.
- Maintain accurate electronic and hardcopy patient records, reports and documentation in line with policy and legislative requirements.
- Work collaboratively with nursing, clinical and administrative teams to ensure effective communication, prioritisation of tasks and smooth day-to-day operations.
