Please note that as this position is multi-classed as either a WHA4 or WHA3, the classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.

 

Join Our Team as a Direct Care Worker (Community) – Supporting Independence at Home

Make a meaningful difference by supporting older people and individuals living with disability to remain safely and comfortably in their own homes. As a Direct Care Worker (Community), you will provide hands-on, person-centred care while working as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary community health team.

About the Role:

The Direct Care Worker (Community) assists in providing direct client services to people who are aged, frail or living with disability and wish to remain living independently in their own homes with support. The role is accountable to the Supervisor/Manager and works closely with Community Health professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You will contribute to high-quality care delivery by supporting daily living, social engagement and wellbeing, while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to organisational policies and procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

WHA4

  • Completed AQF Certificate III relevant to the position.
  • Proven experience in exercising own judgment and initiative in the day-to-day execution of a position.
  • Experience in the provision of a direct care service in a health-related field.
  • Experience in dealing with aged, frail or disabled persons.
  • Experience in the use of computer packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel.

WHA3

  • Experience in exercising own judgment and initiative in the day to day execution of a position.
  • Experience in the use of computer packages eg. Microsoft Word, Excel.

This is a part time vacancy, working 44 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.

  • DHS National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Check
  • National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups required for this position (E.g. aged care employment or work involving vulnerable clients)
  • Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A
