About the Role
Join a dynamic and collaborative pathology team across multiple South Australian sites, including Women’s & Children’s Hospital, Royal Adelaide, Flinders Medical Centre, and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. In this TGO1 role, you’ll support efficient and high-quality Anatomical Pathology and Cytology services, contributing to specimen preparation, processing, staining, and laboratory maintenance. You’ll work across a range of laboratories and mortuary services, applying technical expertise to ensure accurate testing, timely reporting, and adherence to quality standards.

In addition to hands-on specimen work—including embedding, sectioning, frozen sections, immunohistochemical and cytological techniques—you’ll assist with equipment operation, calibration, and maintenance, while supporting quality control and accreditation processes. You’ll contribute to workflow efficiency, specimen management, courier duties, and training of staff, while liaising with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth laboratory operations. This is an exciting opportunity to apply and expand your technical skills in a supportive environment, with exposure to diverse cases and the chance to rotate across multiple specialist sites

You will thrive in a collaborative environment and be confident working independently while supporting your team to achieve laboratory and clinical goals.

  • Experience in histopathology, cytology, and specimen processing, including sectioning and staining

  • Strong technical, manual and computer skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards

  • Excellent communication, organisation, problem-solving and teamwork skills, with commitment to ISO/NATA standards
