SALHN are looking for a Rheumatology Consultant for the next 12 months!

We are seeking a Rheumatology Consultant to deliver high-quality, patient-centred clinical care while providing strong clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team. The role includes active involvement in teaching medical students, trainees, and relevant nursing and allied health staff, as well as participation in clinical audit, quality and safety initiatives, research, and ongoing professional development.

About the role: 

Duties for the role will include:

  • Delivering high-quality, safe, and patient-centred care in line with the SALHN Integrated Governance and Consumer Engagement frameworks.
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, fostering positive and respectful relationships with clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
  • Promoting a strong consumer focus by supporting patient rights, providing clear and timely information to patients and families, and responding appropriately to feedback.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. FRACP or equivalent, having completed advanced training in Rheumatology.
  • Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in Rheumatology
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of professional judgement and medical competence in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Respect for the rights and responsibilities of patients and their families.
  • Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
