About the role

As an Operational Services Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the smooth and efficient running of laboratory services. Working under general direction, you will apply your high-level skills and knowledge to a variety of practical tasks, including sorting and accessioning specimens according to established protocols, ensuring accurate data entry, and assisting with preparatory duties, storage, and transport. You will also supervise and prepare rosters for a small work group, contributing to a collaborative and well-organised laboratory environment.

In this role, you will also be a primary point of contact for both internal and external customers, managing enquiries with professionalism, care, and clarity.   • Proven ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and perform accurately under pressure
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a focus on quality customer service
  • Extensive experience in pathology sample handling, data systems, and staff supervision
  • Knowledge of laboratory practices, specimen requirements, quality standards, and WH&S compliance
