Supervise with Purpose - Outpatients Central Services Administrator

Lead the administrative operations for outpatient drug and alcohol services at Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, supervising staff and coordinating essential central services. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth patient flow and service delivery while supporting clinical teams in providing quality care to the community. This ongoing position offers the opportunity to make a real impact in healthcare administration within SA Health's largest public health system.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Regional Outpatient Manager, this role is responsible for the coordination, leadership and supervision and performance management of administrative staff, identifying areas for site processes and quality improvement and the provision of administrative support service to DASSA’s Outpatient Services Division, Central Services.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Providing effective leadership for administrative staff on site,
  • Ensure service provision and the activities of the Division are customer focussed and professionally and effectively conducted by contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of the service and clients,
  • Ensure the effective supervision of administrative services human, financial and physical assets through appropriate planning and allocation of resources,
  • Lead, develop and foster a positive work culture which is based on SA Health’s values and promotes customer service, learning and development, safety and welfare of employees, acknowledges differences, and encourages creativity and innovation,
  • Actively participating in a program of continuous quality improvement,
  • Ensuring administrative support to the Regional Manager, outpatient services and programs, and electronic appointment system (CME Scheduler),
  • Ensuring incoming correspondence is recorded and forwarded in a timely manner to the relevant recipient or work area and relevant documents are saved to objective,
  • Monitoring workloads and practices to ensure tasks are completed within agreed timeframes and standard of work output is maintained

About you:

  • Proven ability to use tact and initiative, analyse problems and implement solutions,
  • Demonstrated ability to produce quality work with attention to accuracy and presentation within predetermined time frames, competent letter and report writing skills,
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively undertake simultaneous tasks and cope with changes to work demand,
  • Proven ability to work effectively either independently or as part of a team,
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive situations
  • Demonstrated experience providing general administration, data entry and reception services, managing office workflow and leading staff within a health/medical environment,
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, problem solving and resource allocation, and in coordinating and implementing new initiatives
