About the role: 

Reporting to the Regional Manager Outpatient Services, some of your duties for the role will include:

  • Provides leadership and direction, acts a role model, mentor, consultant and resource person
  • Liaising and providing advice, support and information provision to staff and, a wide range of government, non-government, general practice-based community services
  • Providing leadership through advocacy and inclusive team building.
  • Co-operating with the public and private Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid dependence and other Medication Assisted Treatment programs in the induction and stabilisation of clients
  • Providing and promoting an effective standard of drug and alcohol nursing practice within the service and to external providers

About you:

  • Experience in providing a range of activities related to the key responsibilities of the consultation liaison and community nursing role including education and training, psychosocial assessment, care planning, case management, counselling clients at risk, client advocacy, managing complex clients, and working with clients and communities experiencing diverse and complex problems including homelessness and family violence
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-direct to prioritise workload, set timelines, manage workload demands, maintain accurate records, assess and analyse problems and formulate solutions to achieve objectives
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team
