About the Role

As a Mental Health Enrolled Nurse (MHEN) within the CALHN MHRS, you will be a vital part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, working to provide person-centred care that supports consumer access and positive outcomes. Your role will involve supporting the Registered Nurse in delivering direct, comprehensive nursing care and contributing to the recovery process by focusing on consumer independence, skill development, and social inclusion. You will work under the guidance of a Registered Mental Health Nurse and be accountable for your practice while fostering an environment that promotes consumer health, recovery, and well-being through education, counselling, and group work.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing Board of Australia, along with a current practising certificate.
  • Experience in mental health nursing practice, with demonstrated competency in clinical skills and the ability to deliver quality care under limited supervision.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively with consumers, carers, and a multidisciplinary team, with strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Deep understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approaches, as well as knowledge of mental health rehabilitation principles, and the ability to apply these frameworks in daily practice.
