WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?  

We are offering a senior, influential opportunity to shape and lead disaster resilience, emergency management and business continuity across the Local Health Network. This role provides the chance to work strategically and operationally, partnering with executives, clinicians and external agencies to strengthen preparedness, response and recovery in a complex health environment. You will be supported within a collaborative corporate services team and contribute to meaningful, system-wide improvements that safeguard patients, staff and services during emergencies and major incidents.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • An experienced Disaster Resilience Coordinator with a track record in delivering high level, strategic leadership and managing complex, multi‑site services in a health or similarly complex environment.

  • A person with strong strategic thinking, excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and proven ability to drive change, lead reform, and build collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Someone with extensive experience in human, financial and material resource management, policy and program development, quality management, and a sound understanding of relevant legislation, standards and accreditation requirements

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

  • Lead and strengthen disaster resilience across the Local Health Network by designing, implementing and continuously improving Planning, Preparedness, Response and Recovery (PPRR) and Business Continuity frameworks in line with SA Health policy.

  • Provide expert advice, coordination and support during emergencies, major incidents and disaster responses, including participation in incident management, exercises, debriefs and seasonal preparedness activities.

  • Build capability across sites by delivering education, training and exercises in emergency management, business continuity, fire safety and security, ensuring consistent and effective local implementation.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify risks, ensure compliance with legislation and standards, and drive quality improvement initiatives that enhance safety, resilience and continuity of health services.

  • This role works closely with the Director of Corporate Services and reports directly to this position. The incumbent will build and maintain strong working relationships with LHN executives and staff, and collaborate with colleagues across other LHNs, the SA Health Disaster Preparedness and Resilience Branch, and key stakeholders within SA Health.

  • Build and support a high‑performing workforce by leading staff development, performance management and change initiatives, fostering a positive culture aligned with SA Health values and Work Health and Safety obligations.
