Hawker Memorial Hospital

The Hawker Memorial Hospital consists of a 13-bed facility which includes 4 acute and 9 aged care beds as part of the Flinders Ranges Multi-Purpose Service (MPS). The hospital provides accident and emergency services, general medical care, palliative care and a range of allied health services. Living and Working in the Flinders and Upper North Region - Hawker

 

About the Role:

As the Diversional Activity Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing the quality of life for Aged Care residents by planning, delivering and evaluating individual and group activities that promote independence, confidence and wellbeing. You will provide residents with meaningful choices, opportunities to try new experiences, and chances to relearn and strengthen existing skills, while supporting them to identify and achieve personal goals and interests. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will maintain positive professional relationships, contribute to strategic and business plan outcomes, and report any observed changes in resident status to the appropriate clinical staff. 

 

About You:

  • Current South Australian Driver's License.
  • Previous Paramedical Aide or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in exercising own judgment and initiative in the day-to-day execution of a position.
  • Experience in the use of computer packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel.

Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
