Overview:

This position provides operational and procedural leadership to the Drugs of Dependence Unit (DDU) to efficiently and effectively deliver administrative and legislative activities committed to the Minister responsible for the Controlled Substances Act 1984 (SA).

The key functions of this role include:

  • Leading the DDU through effective decision making and judgment to enable staff to exercise delegated powers under the Controlled Substances Act 1984 (SA) to minimise the incidence of and harms associated with drug dependence, misuse and diversion.
  • Planning and managing the efficient functioning and effective deployment of DDU resources.
  • Coordination, strategic leadership, development and supervision of professional staff and support staff.
