Hawker Memorial Hospital is a 13-bed facility, including 4 acute beds and 9 aged care beds, proudly serving the Flinders Ranges region as part of the Multi-Purpose Service (MPS). We provide essential healthcare services including accident and emergency care, general medical care, palliative care, and a range of visiting allied health services. Living and Working in the Flinders and Upper North Region - Hawker

 

About the Role:

As a Services Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting the daily operations of the health unit by delivering high-quality catering, cleaning and laundry services. From preparing and plating meals to maintaining linen supplies and ensuring a clean, safe environment, you will contribute directly to patient comfort and wellbeing. Working collaboratively within the team, you will assist with food service, housekeeping tasks, operation of equipment and routine maintenance activities, while maintaining a strong focus on efficiency, safety and customer service. This hands-on role offers variety, teamwork and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the overall patient experience.

 

About You:

  • You only require limited experience in the areas of housekeeping, cooking/catering and laundry.
  • You must have basic knowledge of safe working conditions.
  • You must have basic knowledge of Food Safety Standards.
  • You must have basic knowledge of Infection Control Standards, including cleaning and sanitizing processes.
  • You must have basic knowledge and commitment to customer service principles.
  • You must have knowledge of computer packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • You must have knowledge and understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act and Risk Management principles.

Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
