Burra Hospital is located in the picturesque township of Burra, a town rich in South Australia’s mining heritage. Famous for the historic “Monster Mine,” Burra played a pivotal role in shaping the early prosperity of the state through its copper mining industry.

Situated 164 kilometres north of Adelaide, Burra offers a welcoming village atmosphere, with beautifully preserved heritage buildings lining the town square. Burra Hospital is a small but vital rural health service, offering:

• 5 acute inpatient beds
• 16 MPS aged care beds

Services provided include:

• 24-hour accident and emergency care
• Acute inpatient care
• Palliative care services
• Residential aged care
• Visiting General Practitioner, dental, and allied health services

Role overview

You will be warmly welcomed into a friendly, collaborative team dedicated to working with you to plan and deliver direct care to:

• Acute patients
• Residential aged care residents
• Patients presenting to the emergency department
