About the Role

Seeking an experienced Nurse to join an enthusiastic and progressive team within Mental Health Services at Tranmere. Providing specific support to the Team Manager in the leadership of nurses in the unit/team, your duties as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager will include performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation and attendance management; financial and supplies planning and monitoring.

You will be responsible for ensuring optimal consumer care is provided by utilising the process of nursing to deliver direct and comprehensive nursing care and individual case management to mental health consumers within a designated practice setting. The provision of education, counselling and group work is considered essential components of care which is directed towards the attainment of optimum consumer health and recovery. This involves consultation and liaison with other professional disciplines and non-governmental organisations. You will use clinical knowledge, skills and experience in the application of direction, support, orientation and education to nursing staff and participate in action research projects, quality improvement activities and policy development within the practice setting.

About You

You are a confident mental health nurse with the leadership skills, clinical insight and care focus to guide teams and support people with complex needs.

• Registered Nurse with AHPRA and current practising certificate
• Postgraduate mental health nursing qualification or equivalent
• Strong leadership, communication and change skills
• Proven coordination and supervision of nursing teams
• Sound knowledge of mental health standards and systems
