Overview:

  • The Senior Partnerships Project Officer is responsible for fostering and sustaining collaborative respectful relationships with key Aboriginal health stakeholders and pursuing partnership opportunities in line with Closing the Gap (CtG) Priority Reform One - Formal Partnerships and Shared Decision-making to drive improvements in health outcomes for Aboriginal South Australians.
  • The role facilitates partnerships between SA Health and Aboriginal representatives including Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW), Local Health Networks (LHNs), Attached Offices, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), Non-Government Organisations, governments and educational institutions, drawing on collective experiences, insights and understanding of Aboriginal needs to deliver high quality and responsive health care for Aboriginal peoples. This includes facilitating partnership approaches at a system level and a place-based level to address the needs of specific communities in accordance with South Australia’s CtG commitments.
  • The Senior Partnerships Project Officer works closely with Aboriginal Health Branch staff, and across SA Health more broadly to provide information and advice about best practice partnership approaches to drive improvements in Aboriginal health.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

Special Conditions

  • The incumbent may be required to work out of hours and some intra / interstate travel may be required.
  • The incumbent may be required to travel or work across and / or be located at any of the Department for Health and Wellbeing units / divisions as required.
