About the role

The Occupational Therapist delivers evidence‑based oncology and haematology occupational therapy, coordinating assessment, therapy and multidisciplinary care. The Occupational Therapist strives to achieve a high standard of service delivery to support children and families, and to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key duties of the role

  • Develop, coordinate and implement high quality occupational therapy services.
  • Deliver services in a coordinated manner with other multi-disciplinary team members.
  • Deliver care aligned with patient and family centred care principles.
  • Offer supervised placements for undergraduate and post graduate students.
  • Liaise with families, staff and relevant local services to provide an integrated approach.

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification, which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Experience providing high quality, efficient and effective Occupational Therapy services.
  • Experience in providing care to paediatric and adolescent patients and their families.
  • Experience with undertaking assessment, diagnosis, intervention and discharge planning.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to demonstrate effective time management.
