About the Roles
Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network is seeking motivated and compassionate nursing staff to join our teams across a range of settings. With multiple opportunities available on a casual, temporary or ongoing basis, and negotiable hours, these roles offer flexibility while contributing to high-quality, person-centred care for our communities.
Assistants in Nursing (AIN) support Enrolled and Registered Nurses/Midwives in the delivery of general patient and client care. The role involves undertaking basic nursing and care duties that contribute to the comfort, safety and wellbeing of patients, enabling nursing staff to focus on more complex clinical care. Employees at this level are accountable for their own actions and work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
The Enrolled Nurse (ENC/END) supports the Registered Nurse/Midwife in the provision of safe, effective and person-centred nursing and/or midwifery care consistent with professional standards and legislative requirements. Practice at this level ranges from novice to proficient. Enrolled Nurses work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife while retaining accountability and responsibility for their own nursing practice and the care they provide.

Key Responsibilities:
AIN
- Support Enrolled and Registered Nurses/Midwives by assisting with routine patient/client care and activities of daily living, delivering respectful and person-centred care.
- Perform a range of basic nursing and support duties within scope, including preparing for nursing procedures, cleaning equipment and maintaining local stock levels.
- Contribute to a physically and culturally safe care environment by following established policies, procedures, protocols and systems of work.
- Participate in quality improvement and evaluative activities through accurate recording, reporting and data collection as required.
- Undertake care activities that support learning and skill development in line with the qualification in which you are enrolled, within the defined organisational scope of an Assistant in Nursing.
ENC/END
- Deliver safe, person-centred nursing care by undertaking assessments, routine procedures and care activities appropriate to the area of practice and within scope.
- Under the direction of a Registered Nurse/Midwife, plan, prioritise and complete nursing care tasks, demonstrating initiative, sound clinical judgement and accountability for own practice.
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, including supporting and overseeing Assistants in Nursing and students in the provision of care.
- Contribute to quality improvement, evidence-based practice and research activities, supporting continuous improvement of patient and service outcomes.
- Provide education to patients, families and carers, contribute to the learning of others, and actively maintain professional development and competence.

Riverland General Hospital (Berri)
Situated approximately 230 kilometres north-east of Adelaide, the Riverland General Hospital (Berri) has 32 acute beds and 6 Inpatient Mental Health beds.
Karoonda & District Soldiers Memorial Hospital
Karoonda is located approximately 140 kilometres south-east of Adelaide. Karoonda has 2 emergency department beds and 17 residential aged care beds.
Lameroo District Health Service
Located approximately 200 kilometres south-east of Adelaide and approximately 130 kilometres east of Murray Bridge, Lameroo has 8 acute beds and 16 residential aged care beds.
Loxton Hospital Complex
Loxton is situated approximately 263 kilometres north-east of Adelaide. Loxton has 22 acute beds and 58 residential aged care beds.
Mannum District Hospital
Mannum is located approximately 108 kilometres south-east of Adelaide and approximately 32 kilometres north of Murray Bridge. Mannum has 10 acute beds.
Meningie & Districts Memorial Hospital
Meningie is approximately 150 kilometres south-east of Adelaide and approximately 77 kilometres south of Murray Bridge. Meningie has 10 acute beds and 10 residential aged care beds.
Murray Bridge Soldiers Memorial Hospital
The Murray Bridge Soldiers' Memorial Hospital is situated approximately 75 kilometres south-east of Adelaide. Murray Bridge Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital has 32 acute beds and 9 emergency department beds.
Pinnaroo Soldiers Memorial Hospital
Pinnaroo is situated approximately 240 kilometres south-east of Adelaide and approximately 170 kilometres east of Murray Bridge. Pinnaroo operates with a 3-bed emergency department, 7-bed acute ward and 22 residential aged care beds.
Renmark Paringa District Hospital
Renmark is situated approximately 254 kilometres north-east of Adelaide. Renmark has 17 acute beds and 89 residential aged care beds.
Tailem Bend District Hospital
Tailem Bend is situated approximately 97 kilometres south-east of Adelaide and approximately 24 kilometres south-east of Murray Bridge. Tailem Bend has 21 residential aged care beds.
Waikerie Health Services
The Waikerie Health Service is situated 61 kilometres from Berri and 173 kilometres north-east of Adelaide. Waikerie has 26 acute beds, and 42 residential aged care beds.
Community and Allied Health
Incorporates two main centres; one in Murray Bridge and one in Berri, with other satellite sites located in the Mallee (Lameroo, Pinnaroo, Karoonda), Coorong (Meningie, Tintinara, Coonalpyn), and the Riverland (Barmera, Loxton, Waikerie, Renmark). Services provided include Allied Health, Community Nursing and Community based Aged Care Services, such as Community Home Support Program and the Support at Home Program and NDIS services.
