About the role

Leads strategic communications and consumer engagement for CaFHS, strengthening community participation and organisational reputation. Provides expert advice, drives engagement initiatives, and builds workforce capability to support person- and family-centred care and improved health outcomes.

Key duties of the role

  • Support and coordinate the CaFHS Consumer Advisory Committee and ensure meaningful participation in the co-design of CaFHS strategies and service improvements.
  • Lead, plan, develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate strategic internal and external communication and engagement plans.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with consumers, staff, partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Initiate and manage quality improvement priorities across consumer engagement, communication, and training functions.
  • Develop and foster a positive work culture that reflects WCHN values, supports staff wellbeing, and encourages innovation, learning, and inclusive practice.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and ability to effectively establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, administration, management, supervision, and delivery of training and education.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic communication and consumer engagement planning, including managing change processes and adapting approaches to shifting priorities.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, with sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential issues effectively
