WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?
This role offers the opportunity to provide nursing and/or midwifery services consolidated by experience and/or further study, developing from a competent to proficient practitioner while accepting accountability for your own practice standards and delegated activities.
You will provide support to the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager in leading nursing and midwifery teams, promoting continuity and consistency of care, and implementing practice changes. The position includes responsibility for after hours coordination of the health service, integrating corporate management activities with local service delivery to optimise patient/client outcomes.
This is a key leadership role within the professional practice framework established by the Director of Nursing/Midwifery, offering the opportunity to lead teams, manage resources with due diligence and contribute to safe, high-quality nursing and midwifery services.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?
- Provide after hours oversight of the health service, including staff allocation, patient/client flow and professional responsibility for nursing and midwifery staff.
- Support ward/unit management including staffing, rostering, recruitment, leave management and resource monitoring.
- Lead quality improvement, risk management and implementation of corporate policies to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
- Provide leadership, mentorship and professional guidance to nursing and midwifery staff.
